Our History

We are a 4th generation family business based in Cedar Rapids,Iowa; serving and celebrating Eastern Iowa communities since 19xx. We cherish days and occasional nights spent working alongside local contractors, farmers, builders, manufacturers, utility providers, construction workers, road crews, landscapers, engineers and municipalities.

Fred Philipp creates Philipp's Trucking

Philipp's Trucking was founded in 1947 by Fred J. Philipp. He bought his first dump truck, used, for less than $1000.

1955

Quaker Oats Winter

Quaker Oats has been a major employer and contributor to the economy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for many decades. In the 1950s, Philipp's Trucking was one of many partners that helped with expansion and modernization of plant productions.

Supporting a growing Cedar Rapids

Like many cities across the United States, Cedar Rapids experienced significant growth and development in the post-World War II era. The expansion of manufacturing industries, technological advancements, and population growth fueled urban development and suburbanization; keeping Philipp's Trucking busy and enabling us to grow.

Moving to Old River Road

With trucking operations booming, it was time to relocate Philipp's Trucking to a location with more space. Fred hauled the original garage from the ADDRESS to the present day location on Old River Road.
